At higher levels they are very hard to farm or find, and it was very noticeably missing in my night's endeavors. At low levels, you'll never put more than a couple on a weapon and even then you'll out level it too quickly to enjoy the perks. Also, leveling bug in multiplayer is an obvious issue but that'll definitely be fixed at some point This was an issue I noticed on my mage, but it's even more silly at level 6,000. Level ups for pets should come much quicker and simply cap at a level or two below you. Once pets begin to fall behind, they gap widens very quickly b/c they can't stay alive long enough to get xp. While mobs of your class type are more likely to drop stuff you can use, this is definitely nowhere near 100% true Issues I noticed while I was using the hex editor: Drastic diminishing returns on level ups forces you to do dungeons, missions, and +n zones which happens to be the more fun part of the game imo. At first I was annoyed by this but the more I mulled it over at work today, the more I realized this works for the best. This game is all about gear at the moment, especially legendary weapons at your power level have a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge impact. This was just a test of scaling game mechanics. I still haven't maxed out all my slots, but I didn't feel the need to bother. To the point where I could by the end of the night round up a dozen +4 creeps at once and then destroy them all within 10 seconds. Sure enough- as those greens, blues, purples, and yellows started trickle in I started to hold my own. I would take on one mob at a time and would need to chug pots to stay alive long enough to do damage. Even after crafting a bunch, and buying some vendor items, and having proper power level items in all my slots I was still getting raped. And sure enough, ran away from that zone with my tail in between my legs. At first I did horribly, mostly b/c I gifted myself several hundred levels and had no items in some slots. I found a seed on reddit that had a +4 farming spot right by the starter town, and then proceeded to grind. After a while, an extra 10, 20, hell even 100 extra points in any of your abilities doesn't do much if anything at all. As you go up in levels, gear ends up becoming the sole dominating factor in how you scale. I wanted to confirm a suspicion, and it looks like my hunch was spot on. So I went ahead and created a warrior, the one class I had not made yet, and then used a hex editor to mess cheat my way up in levels. So I've played each class, and I can officially say my favorite is: All of them.Īlright, I know this is alpha but the theorycrafter in me was curious about a few things. AKA: Turn your damn lamp off while you stealth! I do like that the dev really put time into the mechanics of stealth though - like moving in light burns it super-quick but moving in shadows is actually beneficial. Stealth seems like a multiplayer-centric skill, as having a pet pretty much negates its usefulness. You ALSO gain MP for dodging attacks successfully with MMB (in addition to hitting mobs). And damage for RMB is proportional to MP, so spamming RMB gets useless fairly quick. Did it get patched? The purple sparkles seem to last for a while (until you're out of MP?), but they're fairly easy to get back. I'm not seeing the aforementioned "dodge bug". Daggers are nice, but does the "poison" effect actually do anything? Longsword is probably the best weapon to use, given you can just continually knock things down between RMB and the rush skill attack. Played a rogue last night for the first time.
